Mahindra & Mahindra will launch e-Verito electric sedan on June 2, 2016

Mahindra will launch its second fully electrically powered vehicle e-Verito on June 2 which will be offered in three trims - D2, D4 and D6 just as the outgoing Verito.

The car was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 and it reappeared at the Auto Expo 2016 in the beginning of February.

The Mahindra e-Verito electric sedan will be powered by a 72V, 3-phase electric motor, which is rated at 40 BHP and 91 Nm. Mahindra claims that the e-Verito will be able to reach a top speed of 86 kmph.

On a single charge, the car will cover a distance of 100 km, which is sufficient for a daily commute. A full-charge takes around 8 hours, though this charging time can be reduced to just 1 hour 30 minutes by using the fast charge mode. This fast charge mode is available only with the D6 variant of the e-Verito.

In addition to the new powering mechanism, the electric Verito will also get revised interiors and low resistance tyres. Moreover, Mahindra might add subtle stickers to visually differentiate the e-Verito from its fossil-fuel run counterpart.

Expected price for the e-Verito hovers around Rs. 8 lakh.
