Sunil Gavaskar XI defeated Andhra Cricket Association XI by 52 runs to win the Madhav Mantri under-23 tournament. Left-arm spinner Vijay Gohil picked up seven wickets as the visitor fell well short of the 322-run target.
The win was Sunil Gavaskar XI’s third in as many games. In the other fixture, Sachin Tendulkar XI beat Dilip Vengsarkar XI by seven wickets.
