Patna: Makar Sankranti is celebrated in Bihar on Saturday. About one lakh devotees from all parts of the country have arrived in Mandar, the confluence of three religions present in the Banka district. Although Makar Sankranti is on Sunday, some people are celebrating this festival only on January 14. Despite the severe cold in Mandar, there is no decrease in the enthusiasm of the devotees and from 2:30 am, the devotees started bathing in the Papharni Lake. There was a crowd of people in Mandar. Every part of the mountain is covered with white robes. The Guru's teachings were recited to devotees from all over the country in the presence of Gurumata Rekha Hembram near Safadharma Temple. For the safety of devotees, about a 15-member team is providing security to the people on 4 boats of ISDRF from Patna in Papaharni Sarovar. At the same time, the disaster management team is monitoring the people by setting up camps there. Now 15 divers are also stationed at the spot.
