TMC Supremo to support Akhilesh Yadav in UP elections

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are witnessing a direct contest between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP). The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has also come into the fray a few days before the Uttar Pradesh elections. Party chief Mamata Banerjee has announced that she will not contest the UP polls this time but will support Akhilesh Yadav. She said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party will definitely contest from UP.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mamata Banerjee was once again elected president of the party unopposed. Though there was an infighting in the party earlier, Mamata Banerjee once again became the party's supremo. Mamata Banerjee announced that her party is not going to contest the assembly elections in UP but will support SP president Akhilesh Yadav on February 8. She further said that TMC will definitely contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from UP.

Let us know that the political mercury has gone up over the assembly elections in UP. The rhetoric of the party's top leaders has crossed all limits. When UP CM Yogi Adityanath had talked about cooling the heat of people in Muzaffarnagar and Kairana after March 10 and making Shimla in May-June, SP president Akhilesh Yadav talked to the Election Commission to take cognizance of it and said that the BJP has sent him to Gorakhpur due to which he is warm.
