Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to PM Modi on Monday. She has written this letter about the rising prices of potato and onion. Mamata, in her 4-page letter, has also tried to attack the government over the recent agricultural laws passed by Parliament. Mamata started her letter and wrote that you are well aware that recently the Government of India has enacted three laws relating to farmers and essential commodities. Mamata further wrote that we had raised our serious concerns that these acts were made in haste without adequate consideration or discussion and consultation with the states. In terms of availability and prices of essential commodities related to agriculture, these Central laws have seen an adverse impact on farmers and sub-devotees, as these acts are against the interests of farmers and consumers. Mamata further said in her letter that it can be mentioned that due to changes in the Essential Commodities Act, cereals, pulses, oilseeds, edible oils, onions and potatoes have been removed from the face of essential commodities, after which profits are being made by hoarding essential commodities. This led to the suffering of the common people due to the rise in prices of commodities like potato, onion etc. Also Read- Telangana First round of counting: BJP leads in Dubbak Madhubani Election Result: Samir Kumar Mahaseth of RJD Leading New York City urges precautions against COVID-19 ahead of holiday season
