Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Transport Minister and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim has made a shocking statement about the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Nandigram and leader of the opposition in the Bengal Assembly, Shubhendu Adhikari. Firhad Hakim said that Shubhendu Adhikari will not be in the BJP for more days. He is the only one on the field. All the other BJP leaders have entered their homes. However, on February 27, Firhad Hakim had come to Baruipur to campaign for the party's candidate for voting in 108 municipalities of the state. Firhad pulled up the CPI(M)-Congress as well as the opposition leader of the state from the public meeting. "Nowadays Mir Jafar and defectors are the leaders of the opposition," he said. It is worth noting that before the Bengal assembly elections held last year, many leaders of Trinamool Congress had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, but after the tremendous victory of Trinamool in the assembly elections, many leaders have returned to the party one by one. These include Mukul Roy, Rajiv Banerjee, Sabyasachi Dutta and others. Not only this, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Babul Supriyo has also joined the Trinamool Congress. Firhad Hakim also made it clear that Shubhendu Adhikari will not be taken back to the Trinamool at any cost. Trinamool sources have revealed that Mamata Banerjee is very upset with the way Subhendu has made statements against the Trinamool Congress after joining the BJP. Shubhendu Adhikari is consistently vocal against the Mamata government on all issues. It may be recalled that Shubhendu Adhikari also had the BJP flag in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the Bengal assembly elections.
