Kanpur man dies by suicide after losing job during lockdown

Kanpur: A young man died in the field by consuming a poisonous substance due to economic hardship near Kandhi village under Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The investigation revealed that the young man was in mental tension since he was in lockdown. Gulshan, the youngest 23-year-old son of Ramswarup, who lived in the Kauruwa village under the Derapur police station area, was under stress since he lost his job.

He ate poison in the field of a person named Pyarelal. He fell there and the villagers saw him and informed the family. The family arrived and took him to the doctor, but he had already succumbed to the poisonous substance. Brother Kapil said that the deceased brother was employed in a private company of Pukhyan. He lost his job during the lockdown, he was mentally disturbed.

Kapil said that he tried to talk him out of it, but he was troubled by the economic condition. He had gone out of the house late Thursday evening and the family searched for him when he did not reach home, but he was not found. Mother Razzjo, wife Pushpa wept and was in a bad situation. After the information, the police arrived on the spot and questioned the people. Post-charge Digvijay Singh said that he has taken a suicidal step as he lost his job during the lockdown.
