She married Sanjay Gandhi, the younger son of the then PM Indira Gandhi, after which she became the daughter-in-law of the Gandhi family. 1- Maneka Gandhi did not want to enter politics, but circumstances forced her to become a part of politics. She was thrown out of the house by her mother-in-law, Indian PM Indira Gandhi, on suspicion of attending rallies organized by political rivals after the death of her husband Sanjay Gandhi in 1982 and attempting to gain power prepared for Rajiv Gandhi. 2- Sanjay Gandhi liked Model Maneka at first sight.
