New Delhi: On Sunday, on the occasion of 83rd birthday of Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted him with warm wishes. Modi took to the twitter and said, “Warm birthday wishes to Dr. Manmohan Singh ji. May God bless him with a long and healthy life”. Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted, “PM @narendramodi spoke to Dr. Manmohan Singh ji and extended birthday greetings to him”. During the period between 2004 to 2014, Manmohan Singh worked as Prime Minister, who was born in the small town of Gah in Pakistan, then later during partition in 1947, Singh’s family moved to India. Former Prime Minister attained his doctorate in economics from Oxford after which he started working for the United Nations during 1966-69. Later, Lalit Narayan Mishra hired him as an advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Trade, after which Singh started his bureaucratic career. While being served on various reputated positions, Singh was appointed as the Chief Economic Advisor between 1972–76. During a period between 1991-1992, he worked for the Country as the finance minister. He also served as Governor of Reserve Bank of India in 1982 and remained on the post till 1985.
