Goa (Panaji): In a brief ceremony in the state assembly a Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday was administered the oath of legislatorship. Along with him, the State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane also took the oath. They were administered the oath by Speaker Pramod Sawant. The ceremony took place in the presence of the MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar. On Saturday, Parrikar had resigned as Rajya Sabha MP. Parrikar told ANI "I am back to the original place. My priorities are already decided as Chief Minister. Priorities as MLA will start today," "I will start making Panaji as a model city and the same principle will be used as a model for other cities to be upgraded," he added. On the distribution of portfolios, he said: “We will prove our majority first. Other procedures can follow later. Portfolios only distributed after proving majority on the floor.
