Manufacturing sector slowed due to Corona, demand decreased

New Delhi: There has been a slowdown in the manufacturing sector of the country in March. During the whole month, the sector has slowed down in the last four months. However, it has not seen any decline yet. According to a survey, due to the coronavirus, economic activity has slowed around the world, which has also seen an impact in India.

The IHS Market India Manufacturing PMI fell to 51.8 in March from 54.5 in February. This is the slowest pace of growth in the sector since November 2019. However, there is still no decline in the sector. According to the survey, data above 50 shows growth. This is the 32nd consecutive month when the manufacturing PMI is above the 50 mark.

The index shows an increase in activity by more than 50 points, while a decline indicates a decrease. According to the survey, sentiments for the month of March have weakened in terms of a 12-month trading outlook. Some experts in the survey believe that the coronavirus and its negative effects on demand are likely to persist for a long time.
