Aurangabad(Maharashtra ): Agitation over reservation for Maratha community in government jobs and education turned too violent as 2 people attempted suicide in Maharashtra today. A Jayant Sonavne and Guddu Sonavane attempted suicide by jumping into the river and a Jagannath Sonavne consumed poison in Deogaon Rangari in Aurangabad. All 3 admitted to the hospital, as ANI reported. On the other hand, Maratha Kranti Morcha workers set a truck ablaze in Aurangabad's Gangapur during their protest, demanding reservation for Maratha community in govt jobs and education. Meanwhile, Maratha Kranti Morcha workers tonsured their heads in Aurangabad's Gangapur during their protest. The protest, turned disastrous on Monday after a protestor, Kakasaheb Shinde, a resident of Kaygaon village jumped to his death in Godavari river. Following the death of the youth, Maratha Kranti Morcha workers vandalized a bus on the Aurangabad-Pune highway and also blocked the Mumbai-Pune highway. Yogesh Shirke, a protestor accused that the police provoked the youth to take the extreme step. "When we came to take 'Jal Samadhi', the police started provoking us and challenged us to take samadhi "if we actually have Maratha blood running through our veins"," said Yogesh Shirke. He also threatened that all of them would take 'Jal Samadhi' if their demands are not met. Watch the video here
