Maratha Kranti Morcha called off Mumbai bandh today after the protest turned voilent . They were protesting over demand for Maratha Reservation in government jobs and education. Worth mention here the Maratha Kranti Morcha has called for a shutdown in Mumbai and adjoining areas on Wednesday by Maratha groups demanding reservation for the community in Maharashtra. the agitation turned violent and witnessed stone pelting while several vehicles were torched in Aurangabad and adjoining districts of Maharashtra. According to the news one police constable dead while 9 others were injured in a suicide attempt by three protestors. The Maratha outfit had called for Maharashtra shutdown after a twenty-seven-year-old Kakasaheb Shinde had jumped off to death a bridge over Godavari River in Aurangabad. DCP Deepak Deoraj, PRO, Mumbai Police, stated that all the necessary deployments have been made in Mumbai. He added that The situation should be brought under control at the first. He further said the CM should invite well-known representatives from the community participating in the protest for talks and begin the process of resolving the heated agitation. It is noted that Maratha Kranti Morcha said that essential services like water supply, fire brigade, ambulance services, hospitals, school and colleges, school buses are exempted from the bandh.
