Indian Woman Hokey: Hockey team coach Marin's big statement, says 'Fitness in preparation for Olympics'

Indian women's hockey team's head coach Shored Marin said that 'fitness' is important for the Tokyo Olympics and said that with the emphasis on this in the upcoming practice camp, the weaker sides of the team will be strengthened. Hockey India announced a core team of 25-member prospective players on Saturday, 15 February 2020, which started practice at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) camp in Bengaluru from Sunday, today, 16 February 2020. The player will practice under the supervision of Marin in this 27-day training and adaptation camp. The team has to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy in June this year and the Olympics in July-August.

According to reports, Marin said that after learning from the tour of New Zealand, we have selected some areas which need improvement, we will have a chance to improve it. The Indian coach said that this is an important time for us regarding the preparations for the Tokyo Olympics, so fitness will be the biggest focus in the upcoming camp. This is the time when we can work extra hard in practice camp.

Let us tell you that the last one year has been good for the Indian women's team where it won the FIH Women's Series Finals, Hiroshima 2019, Olympic Trials Competition in Japan and FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in Odisha. The team also performed brilliantly on the tour of Spain, Malaysia, Korea and England.
