Market Closing Bell: Top Stocks to Watch Today

Market closing Bell: In choppy trading on Tuesday, Indian equity indices ended higher and extended their winning streak to four sessions.

The broader NSE Nifty advanced 18 points or 0.11 percent to conclude at 15,850 today, while the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 16 points or 0.03 percent to close at 53,177. Mid and small-cap shares ended on a mixed note, with the Nifty Midcap 100 up 0.29% and small-cap shares down 0.34%.

9  out of the 15 sector gauges of the NSE settled in the green.   Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal, and Nifty Oil & Gas, saw increases of up to 1.25%, 1.67%, and 2.27%, respectively.

The highest Nifty gainer was ONGC, whose share price climbed 5.16 percent to 148.80. Among the winners were Hindalco, Coal India, M&M, and Tech Mahindra. Favourable market breadth was observed overall, with 1,794 equities on the BSE rising and 1,482 falling.

On the 30-share BSE index, top gainers were Axis Bank, M&M, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Dr. Reddy's, TechMahindra, L&T, HCL Tech, Nestle India, Infosys, and SBI.

Gains were restrained by a spike in crude oil prices following last week's crash, which fueled concerns about inflation. The price of Brent crude futures increased USD1.77, or 1.54%, to USD116.86.
