Indian share markets have opened with strong gains on the last trading day of the week, in spite of futures indicating a flat start earlier this morning. At around 10.15 am The BSE Sensex opened 437 points higher at 51,716 while the NSE Nifty 50 index traded 124 points higher at 15,298. As of closing on Wednesday, both Sensex and Nifty were up over 1.5percent for the shortened week. IOC, BPCL, JSW Steel, Larsen & Toubro and HDFC bank were among major gainers On The Nifty While Losers Are Sbi life Insurance, Bajaj-Auto, Hdfc life, Heromotocorp, and Sun pharma Sectoral indices have a combined start to today's trading session. The Nifty Bank index has opened with gains of nearly 600 points while the PSU Bank index is down 2 percent at the start of trading. The Nifty I.T. index has gained another 1.8 percent at the start of trade while the Metal index has opened with losses of 1.3 percent. Broader markets have opened mixed this morning. The Nifty Midcap index has opened with losses of 0.8percent while the smallcap index has opened 0.2 percent higher.
