Indian equity markets have opened flat on the final trading day of the year. At 9.30 am the BSE Sensex up just 7 points to 47752 while the NSE Nifty stood at 13983, up by just a single point Most sectoral indices too have opened little changed. The I.T. index is down 0.2% while the Metal index, which outperformed on Wednesday, has opened 0.2% lower. Other sectoral indices have opened flat. ONGC, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserve and Dr.Reddy Lab were among major gainers in the Nifty while UPL, Shree Cement, Eicher Motors, Ultratech and Infosys were among top losers. Broader markets too have opened flat but with a positive bias. The midcap index is up 0.1% while the Smallcap index is up 0.2% at the start of trade.
