A day post the Independence day, our country suffered the loss of the most loved Prime Minister of the country, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On the 16th of August, 2018, the erstwhile Prime Minister of the country closed his eyes at the AIIMS Delhi, at 5:05 pm. The media across the world paid tribute to the great leader in their own ways. America’s Washington Post remembered him as a leader who led India to being a Nuclear Power. It said that he was the first Prime Minister to run the coalition government for five years. He had surprised the world in the year 1998 when he accomplished 5 nuclear tests in just 2 days. Remembering his speech, the Washington Post wrote that he had said, India would never use the nuclear weapons against someone, rather we would use it for our own security. The Indian media also paid their homage to Shri Vajpayee. Here are the visuals. The New York Times wrote that in his political career of 50 years he continued to be the identity of a Hindu nationalist party but when he became the PM of India, he had become a father figure for the politicians of world’s biggest democracy. BBC wrote that it required him a lot of struggle to run the coalition government, but he accomplished it very successfully.
