Srinagar: National Conference National President and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah has convened an important meeting at his residence today to prepare a roadmap for future action on the Gupkar declaration on the special status of the valley. The meeting will also include former CM of Jammu and Kashmir and People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti. Mehbooba Mufti was released on Tuesday after 14 months of detention. Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference and son of Farooq Abdullah, said, "My father and I met Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba after her release". He said Mehbooba Mufti accepted the invitation to attend the meeting of those who signed the Gupkar declaration on Thursday. Omar Abdullah further said that he has humbly accepted Farooq Saheb's invitation to participate in the meeting of those who signed the Gupkar declaration yesterday afternoon. Gupkar declaration is a proposal issued after an all-party meeting held on August 4, 2019, at Farooq Abdullah's residence. It said that the parties have unanimously decided that they will work together to preserve the identity, autonomy, and special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
