There have been significant developments in the state of Meghalaya. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday propelled the new website of Meghalaya Tourism – 'Check into Nature' in the presence of Commissioner and Secretary Tourism Vijay Kumar, Director Tourism Cyril Diengdoh and other stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality business who joined through video conference. The Chief Minister praised the works of the Department for the comprehensive website that will greatly serve tourists visiting Meghalaya. Here's what will be allowed in Assam after Unlock 5 gets implemented Speaking in front of different stakeholders from the Tourism sector via video conferencing, the Chief Minister stated that the past couple of months have been hard for the tourism sector as a result of limitations and closures due to the pandemic and adaptive measures need to analyzed and executed in order to draw and promote Meghalaya as a safe travel destination post-COVID-19. "The challenges we face are multiple. We need to look at safety measures, we need to build the confidence of the visiting tourists, overall we need to adapt to this entire situation to take maximum advantage to attract visitors because I feel there will be a decline in people traveling to outside locations and we will see a lot of domestic tourists coming into our state," the Chief Minister said. Congress accuses Assam government of scam in the name of employment Sangma also said that the government has performed significant investments for the expansion of tourism and related infrastructure which will greatly improve the capacities of the locations to present unique experiences to tourists visiting the State. Emphasizing on connectivity as an essential part of the Travel and Tourism industry, the Chief Minister also announced that the Government is putting all efforts to improve air connectivity to major cities across the country.
