Hyderabad: The world's largest lift irrigation project 'Kaleswaram' has been launched at Medigda in Telangana's Jaishankar Bhupalpalli district. Three state heads were present at the venue on the occasion. On June 21, Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, Andhra Pradesh CM Jaganmohan Reddy and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis joined the inaugural function of the Kaleshwaram project.

In addition, the Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Shri E.S.L. Narasimhan was also present at the venue. It may be mentioned that before the inauguration of the nearly 80 thousand crore project, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao of Telangana and his wife also performed the ritual worship of Godavari Mata. The project is unique in many cases. The project, costing Rs 82000 crore, is being co-owned by Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) and BHEL (BHEL) (60%-40%) Collaboration has been designed in just three years.
