Men in Blue Prepare for Asia Cup with Weeklong Training Camp at NCA

New Delhi: In order to be ready for the Asia Cup, the Indian Cricket Team will participate in a weeklong training camp at the National Cricket Academy.

To ensure that they are fully prepared for the next competition, the players who will compete in the Asia Cup will go through fitness drills and campaigns. A backup team will go to Ireland following the West Indies tour.

Both the World Cup and the Asia Cup will be prepared for by the main team contingent, which will remain in India. These athletes won't take part in a three-match series in Ireland because they will be competing in the World Cup and the Asia Cup.

Prior to the two major tournaments, these players will have a lot of rest. The BCCI and the team management came to the conclusion that this is the best strategy to manage workloads optimally and lower the risk of injury to the key players.

The Men in Blue will now face their Caribbean opponents for a 3-match ODI series before concluding the tour with a 5-match T20 series after defeating West Indies in a 2-match Test series.

Following the conclusion of the series, the crucial B team will fly to Ireland to compete in a three-match T20 series.

The primary team will return to India in the interim and concentrate on the two next major competitions.

The Indian players will spend a week at the NCA getting ready for the Asia Cup before heading to Sri Lanka. In their opening match of the competition, India takes on Pakistan.

On the other hand, the BCCI has scheduled a conference with the 10 participating countries in Delhi for July 27 to discuss the tournament that will begin in India on October 5.

The last meeting between the BCCI and the other countries took place on July 26 in Mumbai.
