Meteorological Department Forecasts Light Rain for Delhi-NCR on Friday

New Delhi: The Meteorological Department has forecasted light rain in Delhi-NCR on Friday. According to their predictions, many areas in Delhi-NCR and its surroundings may experience light rain on Friday evening. However, the weather is expected to clear up from Saturday onwards. Early next week, residents may encounter severe heat.

Since Thursday evening, Delhi-NCR has experienced light, strong winds, providing some relief from the sweltering heat. Skymet Weather, in addition to the Meteorological Department, has also indicated the likelihood of rain in Delhi-NCR. Mahesh Palawat, Vice President of Skymet Weather's Metrology and Climate Change Department, shared on social media about the weather change in Delhi, suggesting the possibility of light rain in the coming hours while ruling out heavy downpours.

During this period, Rabi crops are in the ripening stage, with harvesting underway in many fields. Both light and heavy rains can be detrimental to farmers. After harvesting, crops are often left in the fields, and rain can introduce moisture, adversely affecting grain quality and market prices. However, it is expected that the weather will clear up from Saturday onwards, with no significant rain predicted.

The onset of the following week may bring intense heat to Delhi-NCR, with temperatures possibly reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius by Thursday. This could lead to scorching conditions for residents starting from the second week of April.
