Metro Station Mishap: Gokalpuri Section Collapse Leaves 4 Injured

A part of the Gokulpuri Metro Station in northeast Delhi collapsed today, causing injuries to several people, including one critically. The incident happened around 11 am when a section of the station's boundary wall and part of the platform fell onto the road below, as per police sources.

According to reports, three to four parked two-wheelers were buried under the debris. One person, who was riding a scooter when the collapse occurred, is in critical condition, while others suffered minor injuries.

A senior official from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated, "We are investigating the matter and taking all necessary actions." Eyewitnesses captured videos of the incident on their mobile phones, showing authorities clearing the rubble while a portion of the structure remained unstable.

 

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received reports of the collapse around 11:10 am and dispatched four fire tenders to the site immediately. Police, along with locals, worked together to rescue those trapped under the debris. All injured individuals have been taken to GTB Hospital, with efforts underway to identify them.
