Ministry notifies amendments in rules governing BH series regn mark

NEW DELHI: The Bharat (BH) series registration mark rules have been amended, according to a notification from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

On August 26, 2021, the Ministry first unveiled the BH series registration mark. Several suggestions for enhancing the BH series ecology have been received during the execution of these rules.

Officials said that in an attempt to further improve and also widen the scope of BH series implementation, MoRTH proposed new rules.

This has made it easier to transfer ownership of automobiles with the BH series registration mark to those who are qualified for or not qualified for the BH series.

With this, the transfer of ownership of the vehicles with BH series registration mark to other persons, who are entitled or ineligible for BH series, has been facilitated.

To further improve the quality of life for people, a change to rule 48 has been proposed that would allow applicants for the BH series to submit their applications at either their place of home or their place of employment.

To avoid abuse, the Working Certificate that employees of the private sector must provide has been enhanced further. Government employees can now also get BH series registration marks based on their Service Certificate in addition to their official identity card.
