Raipur: A case of murder after the rape of an 8-year-old innocent girl has come to light in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Police said that a 14-year-old minor living in the same apartment first abducted the girl, then raped and killed her. The girl's body was found behind the building on December 12, 5 days after the kidnapping. Police said that the 14-year-old criminal was arrested on Thursday and is being interrogated. Raipur's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prashant Aggarwal said that the complaint of the missing 8-year-old girl was lodged by the family members on the evening of 7 December. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and started searching for the girl, after which the dead body of the girl was found behind the building after 5 days. On Thursday, the police team arrested the juvenile delinquent living in the same building. Senior Superintendent of Police said that according to the police investigation so far, the boy raped the girl after kidnapping and then killed her. The police are probing the matter. Senior Superintendent of Police said that on the basis of CCTV footage from the spot, the 14-year-old minor was arrested by the police for questioning. SSP told that due to interrogation he has accepted his crime. On Thursday, the police booked the 14-year-old minor accused under sections 302 (murder), and 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He has been arrested under sections 376 (rape) and 201 (destroying evidence) as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. In the matter of revelations, the opposition BJP in the state protested against the Bhupesh Baghel government in Raipur. BJP leader Sanjay Srivastava said that the law and order situation in the state has become very weak and the government is sitting silently. The government and the police are responsible for this incident. He said that now criminals are getting support in the state and crimes are being committed openly but the police and the government are neglecting them. He has demanded that the investigation in the case should be completed at the earliest and the victim's family should get justice.
