Mewat: Stones were thrown from a Madrasa on Thursday evening (November 16, 2023) at Hindu women heading to worship the well in Nuh, Haryana. Eight women sustained injuries in the incident, leading to escalated tension in the area. Subsequently, two out of the three minors from the Muslim community involved in the stone pelting have been placed in a juvenile home, based on CCTV footage evidence.

On Saturday (November 18, 2023), the police reported the arrest of three minors in connection with the stone pelting incident. Among them, a 9-year-old minor was presented before the Child Welfare Committee and subsequently granted bail. The two 12-year-old minors were brought before the Juvenile Justice Board and subsequently sent to a juvenile home.

Krishna Kumar, the spokesperson for Nuh police, stated, "All three are Madrasa students and were apprehended based on CCTV footage. The involvement of other individuals has not been established yet, but further investigations are underway. If evidence of anyone else's involvement emerges during the investigation, legal action will be taken against them."

Following the incident, an FIR was filed against unidentified individuals, leading to the apprehension of the three minors after thorough interrogation in the presence of their parents. The incident occurred when women from the family of Nuh resident Ram Avtar, residing in Ward No. 10, were en route to a nearby Shiva temple for customary well worship on November 16. At around 8:20 pm, stones were pelted at them from the Madrasa.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Nuh Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarania arrived at the scene with the police force. SP Bijarania stated, "An FIR has been registered based on the women's complaint. CCTV footage from the Madrasa showed three boys standing, leading to their identification. The three boys have been detained and will be presented in court. Eight women filed an FIR and sustained minor injuries. We are interrogating the three boys to ascertain the motive behind the incident. All three children are minors, and we will thoroughly investigate the allegations made by the women. The situation is currently under control."

In response to the Nuh incident, during a press conference of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Friday, VHP State President Pawan Kumar demanded stringent action against the perpetrators. It's worth noting that on July 31 of the same year, Hindu devotees participating in the Brajmandal Yatra were also attacked in Nuh.
