Guwahati: A bank robbery incident is coming to light from Assam where robbers have looted large amounts of money from a bank. The robbers on Friday looted nearly 60 lakh rupees from the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Assam's Nalbari district. During the incident, a man was injured by being shot. According to the information given by the police, the incident took place around 12:30 pm in a bank branch in Amaypur, about 7 km from the district headquarters Nalbari. Nalbari Superintendent of Police Amanjeet Kaur has reported, "As per the preliminary investigation, at least four robbers came in a motorcycle and entered the branch. They attacked the branch manager and looted the cash before fleeing." Once they came out of the bank, the robbers started firing indiscriminately, in which an inspector got injured in his leg. The robbers escaped from the scene shortly after. The injured have been sent to Guwahati for treatment and their condition is stated to be stable. Kaur further said, "We are investigating. We have found some leads and are working on them. Hopefully, those involved in the robbery will be arrested soon."
