Mizoram BJP refutes former party leader’s embezzlement charge

Recently, former BJP leader K Vanlalruati had alleged that Vanlalhmuaka and party state secretary Sunni Lalthangmawia have embezzled lakhs of party funds received from party headquarters in New Delhi. BJP Mizoram Pradesh on Thursday refuted the party president Vanlalhmuaka's embezzlement charge. He called all the allegation against party president Vanlalhmuaka as “baseless.”

Reacting to the allegation of Vanlalruati, the BJP in a statement said that the allegation was “baseless” as the two-party leaders did not misappropriate party funds. Terming the allegation “unfortunate”, the BJP said that K. Vanlaruati has already been expelled from the party for her misconduct. In the statement, the saffron party said, “It was unfortunate and shocking that the expelled leader levelling a baseless allegation against party president Vanlalhmuaka, who helped the former several times from being defamed for her misconduct."

BJP said that the Vanlalruati’s move was politically motivated and said that she must have been instigated by some anti-BJP groups, who want to remove the party from the state politics.
