Aizawl: A health department official said on Thursday that Mizoram has reported 581 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. With these new cases, the total corona cases in the state have reached 25,751 so far. The death toll from Covid in the state has risen to 116 after the death of a 74-year-old woman. The official said the woman who died after being caught by the virus was from the Aizawl district. Aizawl district has the highest number of cases among the total infected people who have come in the last 24 hours. 272 cases have been registered in Aizawl on Thursday. Kolasib, who then finished second, found 129 new cases. While 58 new cases have been reported in Lunglei, 57 new cases were confirmed in Mamit district and 49 in Lavangalai. The health official said the newly infected cases involved at least 115 children. Out of 581 patients, 283 patients had covid, while other patients are patients in the category of infection without any symptoms. According to the official, there are currently 5,373 active cases in Mizoram with new data. While 20,262 people have recovered from the disease. According to Thursday's data, the state recorded a one-day positivity rate of 11.06 percent.
