According to the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), mobile phone handset exports during April-July in the current financial year was close to Rs 7,000 crore. ICEA Chief Pankaj Mohindru said that the mobile handset manufacturing industry continues to perform well. Mobile handset exports have increased by 800 percent in 2018-19 as compared to FY 2017-18. Mobile imports were valued at Rs 10,000 crore in FY 2018-19, while exports stood at Rs 11,200 crore. This is a small, but powerful start to the golden future. It is also good for the country. ICEA informed that in the financial year 2018-19, a total of 29 crore mobile phone handsets were produced in India, which were valued at Rs 1.81 lakh crore.
