Modi government could not satisfy everyone after implementing citizenship law

After the passage from the Indian Parliament, the massive protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act can be called the biggest challenge for PM Narendra Modi since taking office for the first time in 2014. Even from political experts to some BJP leaders themselves are assuming that the Modi government could not detect the 'Mann Ki Baat' on this issue. Most of the people considered the new law to be anti-Muslim and this wrong move by PM Modi threw the Hindu nationalist party into the fire of people's anger.

BJP MP and Union Minister of State Sanjeev Balyan also believes that the mood of the public could not be guessed. Balyan said, "I could not really see the protest. Not only me, other BJP MPs also failed to detect this kind of anger, despite their large parliamentary majority having no threat from this opposition, 69-year-old Modi's image of master strategist holding the pulse of the public also pushed it. Despite being more than 80% Hindu in the country, Modi's strong pro-Hindu base is also broken."

Experts on this matter say that instead of solving the issue of economic slowdown and dwindling jobs, instead of following the major agenda, anger against the government against the citizenship law arose. 3 other BJP MPs and 2 Union Ministers said on the condition of anonymity, they are motivating party supporters to initiate community discussions and remove dissatisfaction regarding citizenship law in all areas. All of them also said that they were ready to show some opposition from the Muslim community, but we're not anticipating the protest that would shake most important cities on such a scale for about 2 weeks. A Union minister, citing lack of discussion with allies and opposition parties, said, "I believe the political arithmetic behind the approval of the law was ignored."
