Modi government's big step, Communication terminal will be established in Galwan-Chushul

Leh: The deadlock on the border between India and China continues these days. If the Chinese Army is planning ambush near Ladakh, then the Indian Army is also fully prepared. Amidst all this, the central government has taken a big decision. The government is now going to improve connectivity in remote areas of Ladakh. This will facilitate contact with the army as well as the people living there, which is very important from the strategic point of view in the present situation.

The Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), a department working under the Union Ministry of Communications, has started implementing the plan to provide communication facility in 354 villages located in remote areas of the country. It was being demanded for a long time. This ambitious project of the Government of India is for all the villages along the border, where the facility of communication has not yet been reached.

Of these 354 villages, 144 Union Territories fall in Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Of these, 87 are in Jammu and Kashmir as well as 57 villages in Ladakh. After completion of this project, 100 percent residents of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh region will get the facility of communication. The Ministry of Communications has planned to set up 812 Digital Satellite Phone Terminal (DSPT) in remote areas of the country.
