Modi will become more powerful as Congress is not serious about politics: Mamata

Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), said on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gain more power because the Congress party is not serious about politics, and she also accused the grand old party of failing to take decisions.

Mamata Banerjee said there had been enough of Delhi's 'dadagiri,' presumably referring to the BJP-led central government (bullying). Banerjee told a group of journalists in Panaji on the last day of her three-day visit to the coastal state, where Assembly elections are scheduled for early next year, that the country is suffering because the Congress is unable to make decisions.

‘I can't say everything right now because they aren't interested in politics." Because of the Congress, Modiji will become more powerful... Why should the country suffer because someone can't make a decision?, she asked. Congress had a "chance" (in the past). Rather than fighting the BJP, they ran against me in my home state. "Don't you think that when they ran against me, when they ran against my political party in Bengal...?" she asked. Banerjee stated that the TMC believes that regional parties should be given seats in elections. The TMC has announced that it will run for all 40 seats in the upcoming elections in Goa.

Banerjee went on to say, "I want the regional parties to be powerful. We want the federal government to be well-structured. We should strengthen states, because if states are strong, the centre will be strong as well. Enough is enough, Delhi ka dadagiri amka naka (We don't want Delhi's bullying).
