In Monte Carlo Masters match, well known player Rafael Nadal crashed out against Andre Rublev in the men's singles quarterfinals on Friday. Let us share that third-seeded Nadal went down 2-6, 6-4, 2-6 against the sixth-seeded Russian, who registered the first win of his career against Nadal. To be noted that Nadal, 34, was playing his first tournament since losing to Tsitsipas in the Australian Open quarter-finals, but had shown no sign of rust while dropping only five games in his opening two matches. Here it is needed to mention that Rublev might have won even more convincingly, with Nadal saving break points at 3-1 down in the second set. Nadal clawed his way back to win that set and seemed to have settled down, but Rublev broke him immediately at the start of the decider in which the 34-year-old Nadal looked very tired. Rublev clinched his first win against third-seeded Nadal on his first match point with a typically powerful winner on forehand -- a weapon Nadal struggled to contain all match. However, here to be noted that the semi-finals have an unfamiliar look with Rublev up against Norway's Casper Ruud who knocked out 2019 champion Fabio Fognini 6-4 6-3. In the other half, unseeded Dan Evans beat 11th-seeded David Goffin 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the first Masters semifinal of his career.
