New Delhi: In a groundbreaking moment for space tourism, Keisha Schahaff and her 18-year-old daughter Anastatia Mayers are set to become the first-ever mother-daughter duo to venture into space together. Joining them on the momentous journey is former British Olympian Jon Goodwin. The trio will embark on the VSS Unity flight, scheduled to take off from Spaceport America in New Mexico on August 10, under the banner of Virgin Galactic.

Hailing from Antigua and Barbuda, Keisha Schahaff is a health and wellness coach, while her daughter, Anastatia Mayers, is a second-year student studying physics and philosophy at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. They earned their coveted seats in space as the lucky winners of a prize draw organized by Space for Humanity, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring ordinary individuals to make a positive impact on Earth by sending them to space.

Jon Goodwin, a former Olympian who competed in the 1972 Olympics as a slalom canoeist, will also join the historic flight. Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2008, Goodwin has been an inspiring advocate for individuals with the condition, demonstrating his unwavering determination and resilience.
