The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav has headed for his 4-day visit to Japan. He will be leading a high-level delegation to the country, and will visit Tokyo, Osaka Kobe and Kyoto from 28th January to 31st January 2025. The visit will ensure attractive investment by the Japanese companies for the state, showcasing its vast potential. It also expects to strengthen the economic, cultural and strategic ties between India and Japan. After arriving in Tokyo, Dr. Mohan Yadav took to X sharing, “Namaste Japan! I am deeply honored to have received a grand and traditional welcome from our vibrant Indian community here in Japan, marked by a ceremonial tilak and the presentation of a traditional turban. During this visit I look forward to engaging in meaningful one-to-one discussions with lading industrialists, inviting them to join us at the Global Investors Summit 2025.” Madhya Pradesh is advancing towards a rapid industrial transformation under Mohan Yadav’s active leadership. The state has had strong ties of trade and investment with Japan. Madhya Pradesh made a significant contribution in FY2023-24 with India-Japan trade reaching USD 22.85 billion. The state had exported products worth of USD 93 million to Japan, that includes aluminum, chemicals, machinery, etc. 2025 is declared as the ‘Year of Industry and Employment’. The Invest Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit is scheduled to be held in order to achieve this vision. GIS will be commenced on 24-25 February, 2025. Dr. Mohan Yadav received a traditional welcome from India’s Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George upon his arrival in Tokyo today. He held an insightful discussion with the ambassador in strengthening the India-Japan relations and further uplifting the trade collaboration between the two nations. He also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Gandhi Park, Edogawa city. Following this, he will also participate in a road show dedicated for the India-Japan relations. Tomorrow, on 29th January, he will participate in some important business and investment meetings to promote trade and investment in Madhya Pradesh, discussions with Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), Japan Trade and Investment Organization (JETRO) and Bridgestone headquarters. CM Mohan Yadav will also hold interactive session with the members of Indian Diaspora and the Friends of MP’ Group. The next day, on 30th January, the CM will visit Kobe and Osaka. He will meet representatives Sysmex Corporation followed by an inspection of their plant in Kobe. Then, he will visit Osaka for meetings and site visit with officials at Panasonic Energy. He will also conduct a road show in Osaka on the theme ‘Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh’, showcasing the investment potential of the state to Japanese businesses. The last day, on January 31st, will hold G2G (Government to Government) and B2G (Business to Government). Following which, the CM will visit the historic and cultural sites in Kyoto. This will enhance the cultural cooperation between India and Japan. The meeting sessions are to highlight the initiatives of the Madhya Pradesh Government which are undertaken with the objective of promoting innovation, investment, growth, sustainable development and the ease of doing business. A major focus will be on Agriculture, Dairy & Food Processing, Fintech, IT/ITES and Robotics, pharmaceuticals, EVs, automobiles and other key sectors. At the Invest Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2025, Japan will be participating as the ‘Partner Country’. With the aim of attracting major investments from Japanese businesses, the collaboration will lead to economic progress and industrial growth. Before the GIS 2025, interactive sessions on Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh are been held in order to engage with investors nationally as well as at the global levels. Under this, successful sessions have been conducted in United Kingdom and Germany. As a part of which, a third international interactive session is now held in Japan from 28th January to 31st January, 2025.
