Rani Mukerji-starrer Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, Directed by Ashima Chibber and produced by Nikkhil Advani has opened to a slow start. The film, which opened to great reviews from fans, critics and celebs alike, is heading for a crucial weekend. Early estimates suggest that the film has minted lesser than Rani’s last release, Bunty Aur Babli 2. The film opened at ₹1.27 crore and is expected to gain from positive word of mouth during the weekend. Released on a restricted count of just over 500 screens and select shows, this was projected as a word of mouth and that’s what the expectation would be from this point on. Film trade analyst Joginder Tuteja tweeted on Saturday, “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway takes an expected start, brings on ₹1.27 cr on Friday. Should comfortably cross ₹ 2 cr today owing to good reports.” On the day of the film's release, the Norwegian Ambassador to India, Hans Jacob Frydenlund said that the film incorrectly depicts the country's (Norway's) belief in family life. The Norwegian envoy said that the film has "factual inaccuracies" and the story is a "fictional representation of the case."
