MUMBAI: In a freak accident, a 12-year-old girl died after falling off a swing while playing in a garden in Palghar on Monday morning. A girl allegedly died after she fell from a swing in a garden. The incident took place in Palghar. The deceased was identified as Ravina Bhuriya residence of Navali. The incident took place at a municipal garden.

According to the police, the deceased was being accompanied by her younger brother. She got onto a swing and was enjoying herself when she lost her balance and fell. She got up after the fall and later walked back home with her brother. However, on reaching home, she collapsed. As her parents were at work, her brother raised an alarm and alerted the neighbors who took her to a public health center. Doctors examined her and declared her dead.
The body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem. According to the doctors, the deceased had suffered serious injuries on her chest. The police filed a case of accidental death in relation to the case. In a similar incident, a man allegedly died after being trapped in a stone crusher machine in Palghar on March 5. The incident took place in the Gundale village. The victim was identified as Sanjay Gandhi. The deceased was allegedly cleaning the stone crusher when his co-worker switched on the machine. The deceased then fell on the conveyer of the stone crusher and got carried into the machine.
