Supreme Court reaches CBI probe against Maharashtra government: Anil Deshmukh

New Delhi: Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh has filed a petition in the apex court against being transferred to the Home Guard department. Param Bir Singh, in his plea, has also asked the Apex court to inquire into the allegations that he had mentioned in a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray.

The petition has been filed in the Supreme Court today. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi is believed to be lobbying in the Supreme Court on behalf of Param Bir Singh. In his petition filed in the apex court, Param Vir Singh has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to order an inquiry into the matter, "so that CBI can immediately make fair, neutral and clean checks of the corrupt practices of Maharashtra government Home Minister Anil Deshmukh."

At the same time, Param Bir Singh has asked the apex court to revoke the Maharashtra government's order that he has been transferred from the post of Commissioner of Mumbai Police. He has asked the court to issue an order for the same. Param Bir Singh has alleged that the state government's order is illegal and arbitrary.
