Mumbai Indians beats Chennai Super Kings by 1 run to win IPL trophy for the fourth time

Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by one run in IPL 2019 Final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and won the IPL trophy for the fouth time. Chennai Super Kings need 150 runs to beat Mumbai Indians in the summit clash and lift their fourth IPL title but the MS Dhoni led team managed to score 148 runs in the thrilling match.

Talking about Chennai side, Faf du Plessis smashed 26 runs from 13 balls and gave a decent start to the team. But then wicket strated falling from one side  and Suresh Raina , Ambati Raidu and MS Dhoni lost wickets on 8, 1 and 2 runs respectively. Shane Watson played a brilliant knock of 80 runs from 59 balls.

Earlier, MI had taken off to a great start with the openers adding 45 runs off the first 29 balls before Shardul Thakur delivered the first breakthrough by dismissing Quinton de Kock. Deepak Chahar then returned to record a wicket maiden where he dismissed the Mumbai skipper. CSK further tightened the screws with wickets coming at regular intervals. While Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard sought to their team  to a respectable total after much of the damage, Chahar's double whammy in the 19th over restricted Mumbai to 149 for 8 at the end of 20 overs.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians has won the IPL trophy in year 2015,2017 and 2019.
