Indian cinema veteran musician Khayyam was an Advocate in the ICU for the past and has now passed away. Yes, Khayyam was admitted to a Mumbai hospital after a lung infection in the past days and Khayyam was 92 years old. He breathed his last at the Sujoy Hospital in Mumbai. Khayyam had been admitted to the hospital's ICU for the past 10 days and his condition had remained critical since the past days. He will be given a final farewell on Tuesday. Khayyam's full name was Mohammed Zahoor Khayyam Hashmi and PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to him after Khayyam's death. In a tweet, PM Modi wrote: "India will remain grateful to Khayyam Sahab for giving us some of the most memorable compositions, which will be remembered forever. He will also be remembered for his humanitarian gestures to support upcoming artists. His demise is extremely saddening." He started his career in 1943 and was born in Jalandhar, Punjab. Khayyam was his father's fourth son and because of his musical hobby, Khayyam studied up to fifth and then fled home. After fleeing home, he started his music career in 1943 and Khayyam worked with Baba Chishti in the film 'Ye Hai Jindagi'. The musician's other notable works include films such as "Trishul", "Noorie" and "Shola Aur Shabnam". In 2007, Khayyam was honoured with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in Creative Music by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's national academy of music, dance and theatre. Four years later, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan, the country third highest civilian award.
