I will miss you, my friend”.Musician and music producer Richard Swift has died at the age of 41, his bandmate Dan Auerbach confirmed on Instagram. The musician was suffering from some serious medical condition.
According to reports, last month Richard Swift was hospitalized due to a “serious medical condition” with a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for his medical bills.
Swift who was the touring bassist for the Black Keys in 2014 had also collaborated with Guster, Ray LaMontagne, Tennis and Sharon Van Etten, among other artists.
There was a warmth to Swift’s recordings that can’t be explained simply by his love of the 4-track recorder. Swift in an interview said that “I think that being able to make friends with a new band, and hopefully help them have a really great musical and life experience, is more the goal than making a hit record,”. “What you can control are knobs, faders, and being a nice person. I think it’s listening to music, as well as listening to people and their ideas. Being open.”
