Myanmar-based drug peddlers hatching a conspiracy to kill Tripura CM Biplab Deb

New Delhi: threats to BJP ministers raised the concern for the ruling party as this time Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb trapped; Tripura BJP said Tuesday that neighbouring Myanmar-based drug peddlers hatched a plot to slay him. Veteran party leader in the state and former minister Ratan Chakraborty stated that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh received reports about the same in a current meeting in Myanmar. He added that drug peddlers had decided to kill Biplab Deb, according to an ANI report.

“There are reports with Union Home Minister that drug peddlers in Myanmar are trying to liquidate Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. We have got reports from our party sources. Officials from the Home Ministry have spoken with our party leaders as well”, Chakraborty was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.

The drug interest group in the province has taken a grave hit after BJP-IPFT government came to power in the state and Myanmar-based drug peddlers are not content about it, he further said. In the last 6 months, the police seized over 50,000 kg of narcotics in which cannabis, heroin, brown sugar etc are included in the past six months. Over 120 people have been arrested so far.
