India has already started the vaccination drive against coronavirus. Meanwhile, pigs are also to get vaccinated against Swine flu. The Nagaland Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services today asked the piggery farmers in the State to get their pigs vaccinated. The Nagaland Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services asked farmers to get the pig vaccinated especially the breeding stock, vaccinated against Classical Swine fever as prevention before the onset of summer. The directorate asked them to inoculate the pigs at the nearest veterinary institutes since this disease is endemic in the State. It said vaccination may be carried out in “ring” or “cluster” depending on the occurrence and epidemiological pattern of the disease in the respective district. The directorate asked all chief veterinary officers of the State to collect the vaccination cost, Classical Swine fever vaccine (first phase) procured under CSF-CP-2019-20 (CSS 90%) and Classical Swine fever vaccine (second phase) procured under State Plan-2019-20 from its office.
