On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao on his 95th birth anniversary.
The Prime Minister greeted via twitter and wrote, “Tributes to Shri PV Narasimha Rao on his birth anniversary. He led India at a crucial time & his leadership was both notable & vital’.
Narasimha Rao served as the prime minister from 1991 to 1996.
His ascendancy to the prime ministership was politically significant as he was the first holder of this office from non-Hindi-speaking south India.
