Natarajan tonsures head, offers hair to deity after India defeat Australia

New Delhi: India pacer T Natarajan has won the hearts of the fans with his impressive performance against Australia. Earlier, former India captain MS Dhoni had shaved his head after guiding the team to the World Cup triumph back in 2011. Now, Natarajan got his head tonsured and shared a picture of himself standing in front of a temple with his hands folded.

Taking to Twitter Natarajan wrote: "Feeling blessed." He was chosen as a net bowler for the Australia series, but the pacer went on to represent the country in all three formats of the game. In his debut Test at Gabba, he went on to take three wickets.

Earlier this month, India had won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series 2-1. For the first time in 32 years, Australia was defeated at the Gabba, Brisbane.  Indian cricket team Team made the whole country proud by defeating Australia at Gabba on January 19. Earlier, After this historic win,  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the Indian cricket team for their Test series win against Australia, saying that the team's hard work and teamwork were inspiring. During 'Mann Ki Baat', PM said, "This month, we got good news from the cricket pitch. After initial hiccups, the Indian team bounced back gloriously and won the series in Australia. Our team's hard work and teamwork was inspiring."
