BHUBANESWAR: The National Hockey Conclave 2023 will be held at the Eco-Retreat Konark on Tuesday, January 10, organised by the Hockey Association of Odisha in collaboration with the Odisha Department of Sports & Youth Services. An official said here on Monday that the conclave will give a forum for different stakeholders from more than 20 states and Union Territories across the nation to discuss how to develop Indian hockey holistically, starting with player performance, coaching, grassroots talent identification, administration, as well as global emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges. From January 13 to January 29, the Hockey World Cup will take held at the venerable Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the recently built Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela. The Hockey Association of Odisha and the government are supporting the event for the first time, according to Dilip Tirkey, president of Hockey India. More than 50 prominent participants, including presidents and secretary of several state associations, former hockey greats, top government officials, and other esteemed dignitaries, would attend the conclave, he said. The Hockey India president said, "The Conclave will feature debates on the evolution of hockey in India, the transition of playing style over time, what are the changes that have occurred, and how the game has changed generally, among other themes.
