Madhya Pradesh: Thieves ran away with rifles from army camp

A video has surfaced of two Insas Assault Rifles stolen from the Army Camp of Pachmarhi, the police headquarters in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, in which a man (in black shirt) posing as an army officer and Army Education Corps (AEC) guarding the center ran away with the Insas Assault rifle. According to media reports, the police is investigating in this matter in view of all the possibilities. CCTV footage recovered from all over the place is being investigated. Police teams are on alert in several districts including Pachmarhi, Harda, Pipariya, Hoshangabad, and Jabalpur.

Two suspicious youths disappeared from the gate of Army Education Corps at Pachmarhi at around 3 pm on Thursday-Friday with 2 INSAS rifles, three magazines, and 20 cartridges. As soon as the incident was reported, all the boundaries of the district were sealed and an alert has been issued in the entire state. However, so far no statement has been made by any army officer in this matter. According to the information given by the police, two suspected youths arrived at the Deepak Smarak Gate, Shaheed of Education Corps at around 3 pm. Both of them introduced themselves to the soldier posted at the gate and described themselves as officers of the army. After this, the soldier left his rifle there and started taking information about it from his senior officers by phone. Then they both ran away with two Insas Assault Rifles, 3 magazines and 20 cartridges placed near the gate and escaped by sitting in the taxi.
