The Union Home Ministry on Thursday said that NCC certificate holders will get bonus marks in the upcoming direct recruitment examinations for sub-inspectors and constables in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The ministry has also decided to ask all state governments to encourage NCC certificate holders in the direct entrance exam for their respective police forces. The Home Ministry said in a statement that to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of increasing youth participation in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the Home Minister's unprecedented decision to award bonus marks to NCC certificate holders in direct entrance examinations for CAPF have taken. In his statement, he further said that NCC 'C' certificate holders will get an additional five percent of the total marks, while the bonus points for 'B' and 'A' certificate holders will be three and 2 percent respectively. According to the statement, the Government of India will also urge all state governments to make similar provisions for their respective police forces in the direct recruitment examination so that NCC certificate holders can be encouraged to join them.
